A boy regularly spends time with his grandmother after school. One day he watches the news and becomes upset because the news was scary.
His grandmother suggests that he focuses on finding kindness in the world. So we journey with him as he finds his neighbors doing everyday acts of kindness like leaving seeds for birds and planting flowers.
The point of the book is that we can all do our part to make the world better with small acts of kindness. That makes this a good choice for when major things are happening in the news and you want a way to reduce the fears it can thrust upon a child.
There is a scene of people protesting with signs that say things like Love Wins, Our Choice, and We All Belong.
Overall, this is a book with positive intentions that may be helpful for some during tough times.
