Going to see the sights in Washington, DC can be fun and educational in itself. This Quill & Quest guide amplifies it by turning a trip to Washington, DC into a scavenger hunt and magical quest.
The book has 15 core quests and 6 bonus quests. You don’t have to complete all of them in one trip; but it is possible if your trip is long enough. This is important to consider because the difference between fun and stressful is all in implementation.
The book helps with this by giving the option to choose a path – Capital Hill (U.S. Capital, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Botanic Gardens), Smithsonian (American History, Natural History, Air and Space, National Gallery), Monument Loop (Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, War Memorial, MLK + Jefferson), and Beyond the Mall (National Zoo, Georgetown, Arlington, White House Area).
Once you choose your quest, you proceed with the game which stimulates the imagination and the intellect.
This is a great way to turn a field trip into lifelong memories. Local homeschooling families might enjoy adding this book to their collection; as would any family who is planning a trip with their children to DC.
