Review
Disclosure: The publisher provided this book for review via NetGalley.
This book contains a lot of text and the font seems small, however it is large enough to read.
This is not a quick read, this is for sitting down, and really learning about these animals. Each section includes photos, personal stories, and animal facts.
This book could be used for unit studies, it could be used to write a report, it also could be used for reading comprehension if you take the time to come up with your own questions for each section. This could also be used for fun if one has an interest in animals and nature.
The book sections are divided by continents, or geographical areas in the case of Oceania. Therefore you don’t have to tackle the whole book at once if that doesn’t fit your needs.
Some parents, caregivers, or teachers may want to know that this book mentions that 2020 global lockdown. There is also an elephant rescue photo that may be disturbing to more sensitive beings.
Overall, this is a nice reference book that could be worked into a custom curriculum or used as a science supplement.
