Summary
Disclosure: The publisher provided this book for review via NetGalley.
I love that this has math and logic problems weaved into a story. It’s divided by chapters which makes it easy to assign a chapter per day, or however you would choose to assign it. For those who like to do unit studies, or integrative studies, this lets you blend your reading and math into one. One could add their own writing assignment to it with ease if so chosen.
The book mentions Nikola Tesla, Erwin Schrodinger, and Isaac Newton, so there’s how you add supplementary resources for science to it.
The ease of being able to integrate multiple topics makes this a time saver for homeschooling parents.
I would recommend that the book provide more information on the topics that are covered so that parents and teachers can know if any prep work is required before assigning a chapter. Everyone has different math standards, and is on different levels so it would help to know upfront what a student needs to be familiar with before doing these puzzles. Some may find that this is not an independent workbook and they need more guidance, whereas others will be able to navigate it independently.
This is not for those who are just starting off learning arithmetic, or reviewing arithmetic unless you are going to sit there and teach them the concepts presented.
Overall, this is a great choice for parents, homeschooling families, and teachers to add to their bookshelves.
